Craig spent most of his youth in a predominately "Jewish" neighborhood. Being raised Catholic He found the different religions to be an interesting contrast, especially since Judaism was the belief system that Christian Doctrine was based.

While attending Mass at his Church as a child, Craig caught an error during " The Readings", a simple oversight caused by the missalette publishing company, unfortunately the priest made no effort to correct the oversight which meant that either he didn't see it himself (Thus placing a stumbling block in front of the blind), perhaps he was hoping nobody noticed as "the show must go on" which would still be placing a stumbling block in front of the blind, or he didn't know any better (The oversight was part of the CCD lesson that Thursday). After Church, Craig raced home to confirm the oversight in the Bible.

What started as "The Priest Should have caught that!" caused Craig to be much more prudent about believing what the clergy said. "They want me to Trust them with my immortal soul, when they make doctoral mistakes like that? Sorry It's not going to happen!" Sure the intention is good, though isn't the road to hell is paved with good intentions?

Until Craig caught that particular error he had very little interest in religion or the church. Following his discovery he slowly became more and more interested in religions listening to a wide variety of preachers from various religions speak on television and on the radio (among his favorites are Dr. Gene Scott, Billy Graham, and T.D. Jake's). While giving them large amounts of credit for being great speakers and offering special incite into the "New Testament", he felt they were missing very important aspects of the Old Testament (Holy Scriptures) - the Very foundation that Christianity was built up on.

Because he was raised in a "Jewish neighborhood", he was more exposed to Judaism than most Christians. The Christians do not understand the "Culture" in which their religion was founded, so they do not have a full nor can they hope to achieve an accurate understanding of their religion, they apply their own culture to it and misunderstand a LOT more than just the subtleties (if your not Jewish, how can you understand what it is like or what it means to be Jewish?)

After years of study, Craig considered that if one were to separate the word of G-d from the text he would have G-d's Words in their purest form. So He began separating the text. "G-D's Words" was the result. Strange, that nobody had ever done it before.
